1, Application:

Since 1997 CHTCAEP10B asphalt emulsion plant is the 8th generation of asphalt emulsion equipment developed by our company (asphalt emulsion equipment has gain three national patents). Emulsified asphalt that produced by this equipment have wide range of asphalt content and stable property can meet various requirements of different construction technologies and is applied into the express highway constructions and road maintenance projects.

2, Structural Characteristics:
2.1, This equipment uses automatic control system to monitor and regulate asphalt content in emulsified asphalt automatically. Two soap tanks are equipped to mix the materials and drain water in turn for continuous production. Flow rate is governed by electrical regulating valve, which saves human labor and reduces labor intensity.
2.2, The key part of this plant - colloid mill is independently developed by our company. Its special structure of pilot rotors clearance is likely to keep tiny fixed clearance. It is made of special stainless steel with properties of wear resistance and corrosion resistance. Its emulsion fineness is less than 5μm.
2.3, High efficiency plate heat exchanger is firstly equipped to cool the finished emulsified asphalt, improve the stability of emulsified asphalt storage and provide the possibility for successive and large scale construction of Micro-surfacing. The cooling water that have been heated is used for producing emulsified asphalt again, which saves clear water heating expense to reduce production cost and makes the process environment friendly and energy saving.
2.4, PLC system controls production; electromagnetic flow meter collects signals; frequency governing motor controls the rotation speed of asphalt pump; electrical regulating valve or gate valve governs the emulsion flow rate (displayed by both electromagnetic flow meter and scale flow meter). By the above means, asphalt content in emulsified asphalt (ratio of asphalt to water) can be accurately and stably controlled.
2.5, Independent and automatic thermal oil heating system is equipped to warm all the pumps before production, which is easy and convenient to replace baking with blowtorch.
2.6, This plant is equipped with water boiler, no need of external thermal oil heating source. Efficient and pressure-constant boiler can monitor and control the temperature instantly, quickly provide hot water for production.

3, Structure & Components:
3.1, Water system
It consists of water boiler, soap tank A, soap tank B, and heat exchanger.
3.2, Soap Solution System
It consists of soap tanks, solution pump, glass rotameter, electrical regulating valve and manual modulation valve.
3.3, Acid Supply System
3.4, Asphalt Supply System

It is consisted of asphalt pump, asphalt hose (heat resistant rubber hose or stainless steel bellow) and asphalt tank.

3.5, Emulsion System

It includes colloid mill, sampling valve and heat exchanger.


3.6, Heat Exchanging System

This system includes heat exchanger, emulsified asphalt discharging pipeline, water boiler, immersible pump (or sewage pump) and cooling water inlet and outlet.

3.7, Thermal Oil System

This is a closed system. Driven by thermal oil pump, the hear oil flows through electrical heating tank, asphalt pump, laminated tube, mill, and finally the thermal oil pump. In front of the thermal oil pump inlet, an expansion tank for heat oil storage and makeup places above the plant body; blow down valve and the overflow port of expansion tank locate at the bottom of the plant body.


This system applies automatic heat oil temperature control by the electrical heating tank with a thermometer to preheat every pump before working, substituting for gasoline torch heating, which reduces the labors and makes this process easier and faster.

3.8, Pneumatic Control System

This system takes power from the air compressor and turns the five pneumatic valves on and off by five solenoid valves, which is easy to make and break the water filling and discharging circuits. See the following graph:


3.9, Electrical Control System
It includes two systems: manual control and automatic control. Auto control system automatically controls the liquid level, soap solution flow rate and asphalt content, which performs independently and with no interactions.
Liquid level control: automatic water charging, automatic water discharging by turn, emulsifier and acid charging manually, manual stirring;
Soap solution flow rate control: keep solution flow rate in constancy automatically;
Asphalt content control: automatically keep the asphalt content at setting values.
A routine process once every operation is to set the parameters of emulsified asphalt content and productivity; solution flow rate and asphalt content will automatically changed according to the above mentioned two parameters.
This system includes the following processes:
3.9.1, Two digital flow meters respectively monitor the flow rate of solution and emulsified asphalt at both Manual and Auto modes;
3.9.2, Emulsion flow rate is automatically regulated by electrical regulating valve at Auto mode;
3.9.3, The asphalt pump controlled by frequency converter realizes continuously variable transmission to control the asphalt flow rate exactly;

3.9.4, Every motor is equipped with overload protection device.
